Dorner Electronic has established subsidiaries in Australia

Egg, Vorarlberg - The Bregenzerwald enterprise Dorner Electronic GmbH, with its main business location in Egg, Vorarlberg, continues to extend the international market orientation of its business enterprises. The company established a new wholly owned subsidiary in Perth, Australia on April 1, 2018. With this subsidiary location, the majority shareholder Andreas Dorner and Managing Director Michael Jäger intendto expand their business activities to Australia and New Zealand. “The markets in these two countries are attractive and enable us to achieve good prices for our products. Up until now, Dorner Electronic has not been present within the markets of these countries. At the start, the location in Perth, Australia has been managed and operated by one employee.
Dorner Electronic develops and produces hardware and software solutions for the building and construction materials markets and, more specifically, for ready-mix concrete and mixing plants.  Approximately 75 percent of revenues are attributed to individual solutions for customers as well as services and support. Approximately one quarter of the business volume is attributed to the standard solution DornerBatch, which has been on the market since 2014. Our customers include plant construction companies that are active throughout international markets and partner companies in electronics technologies markets as well as companies within the construction materials market that Dorner supplies directly. Approximately 60 percent of revenues are achieved within the DACH markets regions.

DornerBatch drives international growth
The standard solution DornerBatch in particular is considered one of the main cornerstones for the international market orientation of the enterprise. Since market introduction of the standard solution, Dorner Electronic started a cooperation with a regional partner in Dubai in 2016 where distribution, installation and service are offered within this market. One year later, a cooperation agreement was concluded with a regional partner in Mexico.

2017 - an exceptionally good year
In the business year 2017, the enterprise achieved revenues of 11.8 million euros with 95 employees, an increase of approximately 5 percent in comparison to 2016. This development is given by an increase in demand for the standard solution DornerBatch as well as increases in the areas of service and support. Moreover, Dorner follows a consistent market development approach in Europe and concentrates its market activities and innovation within the traditional niche in which it has been active for decades. “Besides that, we are of course profiting from the relatively good economic environment in Europe.” Dorner and Jäger also describe the earnings situation as very satisfactory. The year 2017 has been an extraordinarily good year.

Internal restructuring at senior level
During the business years 2016 and 2017, Dorner Electronic carried out internal restructuring and a new allocation of responsibilities throughout the enterprise. Dorner Holding GmbH was established and is solely owned by Andreas Dorner. The holding company holds 95 percent of shares in the operational business of Dorner Electronic GmbH in Egg, Vorarlberg as well as 50 percent of shares in Dorner ASP in Heerbrugg (CH). Managing Director Michael Jäger is also a 5 percent participating shareholder of Dorner Electronic. The other 50 percent shares of ASP are held by the local Swiss partner. At the turn of the year to 2018, Andreas Dorner retired as Managing Director of Dorner Electronic GmbH. The former authorised officer Peter Germann (Distribution, Development) was appointed as a Managing Co-Director.

In the upcoming future, Andreas Dorner will concentrate on the areas of strategy and topic areas of “digital transformation” of Dorner Electronic. The major question, among others, is how the value-added chain can be extended, says Andreas Dorner.
